Cappings are the thin wax lids bees build over honey cells. They are harvested when honey is extracted and are considered the purest beeswax — pale, clean, and free of the debris that older comb can hold. That is the only wax in a Lumea Eterna candle.

Yes, lightly. There is no fragrance oil. When unlit you may notice a soft honey-and-wax scent; when burning, a warmer, quieter sweetness.

Use a snug, heat-safe holder. Trim the wick to 5 mm. Keep out of draughts and the taper should burn with little or no drip. Extinguish with a snuffer rather than blowing, if you can. Do not burn a taper for more than four hours at a time.

Place it on a heat-safe dish. Keep it out of draughts. On the first burn, leave it until the melt pool reaches the edge — about one hour per 2.5 cm of width — or later burns will tunnel. Trim the wick to 5–6 mm. Dip the wick to extinguish; do not blow. When the walls are warm, gently hug them inward so all the wax melts.

No. Beeswax is an animal product, given by the hive. We work with small Latvian apiaries and take only cappings, never brood comb.

Yes. Stock sizes leave in 2–4 working days. Custom heights take longer. Write with the size, the date, and the room.

Yes. Large, square and very large pillars are made for rooms that are actually used — dining rooms, hotels, churches, weddings. Custom sizes on request.

Keep them out of strong sun and heat. A white film (bloom) can appear on beeswax; it is normal. A soft cloth takes it off if you wish. Trim the wick to 5–6 mm before lighting.

Cappings are scarcer and cleaner than leftover comb. Each pillar is poured, dripped and dipped by hand in a family studio — not a factory line.
